Horror Showcase Recap | April 22 – May 06

Horror lovers from all around the world, hello!
Since this is the first edition of Horror Showcase Recap, let me first say a few words just to inform you as to what this is and how you can be a part of it.

My name is Hürcan, or Hurc for easy pronunciation. I’ve been running horrorvisuals – Horror Games Community for over two years now. Ever since the first day, my intentions with it have been the same. Support creative people, share a love for horror, and most importantly, have fun. I’m proud to say that that’s been pretty much what I’ve been doing and it’s been great to see it resonated with so many of you. Horror Games Community helped so many indie developers to get a name on the Twitter-sphere and potentially other social media channels with the momentum they received from the community. It goes both ways too, this initiative also helped horror enjoyers to discover new horror games and branch out their horizons. It’s always been a win-win situation for both sides. Each and every indie promotion you see on Horror Games Community is done for completely free. No questions asked. Developers tend to send me free Steam keys to try out their games but I always make sure to tell them, that it’s not necessary. I’m grateful for their consideration.

What is this Horror Showcase?

Horror Showcase is a Twitter thread I create every two weeks under the hashtag #HorrorShowcase. It used to be #HorrorFriday but the name caused some confusion, so I decided to change it to something more general and understandable. It’s a thread that horror creators can use to talk about their projects and, quite literally showcase whatever it is that they’re working on. Video games, art, music, documentary, short story, book, anything about horror. Because of the community’s overall population, it tends to focus on game development and I intend to keep it that way too. But it’s always great to see artists from other mediums use it and bless us with their incredible horror works. The same goes for authors, composers, and all the other creatives. We have space for everyone. My plan is to carry this endeavor to other social media platforms but I’m still figuring that out.

This article that you’re reading right now, will be published at the end of every Horror Showcase thread, which is mostly two weeks. I’m gonna make a recap of significant projects from the thread and make it easier to read, rather than scrolling down a long thread on Twitter. I will try to get as much as I can into the article but I will most likely skip some submissions with insufficient information or those that I recently wrote about in another recap. It will be tied solely to my curation.

If you want to join Horror Showcase and potentially show up in this article, all you have to do is attend the thread with your project(s). That’s it.
